No Content Required:
Blast uses AI to write all course material from scratch. The curriculum developer does not need to provide any source material.
Optional Content:
If the curriculum developer has content that they want Blast to use in the creation of course material, they can upload the content to Blast. For example, Blast can use source material from web pages, videos, or written content. Please see our fair use policy before uploading content.
Blast AI Interface:
Blast has a proprietary AI system that sits between the curriculum developer and a set of large language model AI systems like GPT. Blast asks the curriculum developer questions and uses the answers to craft prompts sent to the large language model engines. Blast analyzes the responses from the engines to organize content into a format for rapid review by the curriculum developer.
Blast Selects the Best Two AI Engines:
Some AI engines specialize in specific subjects like social sciences or math. Blast automatically selects the Best two AI engines for the subject of your course. Currently, one of the two is always GPT 4. Blast shows the output of both AI systems so the curriculum developer can select the best one or use a best-of-both-worlds approach to select content from both AI systems. For example, the curriculum developer might select study questions from both AI systems to include in the final set of questions exported for use in an LMS or sent to the Blast Personal Tutor to use when creating a daily study plan for each student.
Science of Learning:
Blast Incorporates the latest research in the science of learning into the design of all course material. At each stage of the course-building process, curriculum developers can click a button and see the science that Blast built into that stage.
Blast Offers Three Different Course Types:
Course Objectives:
Assists with the writing of course objectives. After the content creator enters the first few course objectives, Blast will suggest additional objectives.
Competencies:
Blast supports competency-based learning.
Outlines:
Blast writes lecture outlines and lesson plans for live instruction.
Reading Material:
Blast writes reading material for students.
Videos:
Blast writes scripts for videos that can be imported into any automated video production tool.
Flash Card Questions:
Blast writes Mastery questions that can be used instead of flashcard questions and leverages the latest research to accelerate long-term memory formation and the growth of the type of neural connections that create critical thinking ability. When used with the Blast Learning system, each student’s digital tutor selects and adapts Mastery Questions for a student’s daily study plan.
Spaced Repetition:
Blast creates question sets that support the latest research on spaced repetition. When used with the Blast Learning system, Blast offers a money-back guarantee that course failure will be reduced by 75% or more, and the number of students who earn A’s on tests will increase by 50% or more.
Interactive Narratives.
Blast Narratives leverage the power of interactive voice (think Alexa) on a learner’s cell phone to teach students the story of knowledge. This story format improves retention. As the student listens, Blast asks questions that change the brain state from passive listening to active recall associated with accelerated learning.
Test Question Writer:
Blast includes the world’s most advanced exam question writer. Blast uses the science of testing to write master tests that are never shown to students. Instead, each time a teacher wants to give a test, they select one of the master tests, and Blast creates a unique test that covers the same topics as the master test and at the same difficulty level but with different questions. Teachers can use the same master test again and again to write unique tests for each term and even each section of a course.
Export to LMS or Documents:
Content produced in Blast can be exported for use in any LMS or exported to text documents for printing.
Export to the Blast Learning System:
Export content to use in the Blast Personal Learning System. Student use of the Blast Learning system requires a separate license. You can purchase student licenses on our website or contact our customer success department to purchase bulk licenses.
Easy to Use:
Using Blast does not require any training. The curriculum developer selects the type of course they want to create, and the AI starts asking questions. The AI uses the answers provided by the curriculum developer to write the content. The curriculum developer reviews, makes any changes they want to make, and approves the content.
