When the pandemic hit in 2020, Bruce Lewolt watched students struggle in ways he’d never seen before. They couldn’t focus. They couldn’t study independently. And even after schools reopened, things didn’t get better. Reading scores dropped to their lowest level in 30 years. Math scores fell to levels not seen since 2005.
Bruce had spent 25 years building learning technology — systems licensed by IBM and McGraw-Hill, used by over 250,000 students, protected by multiple patents. He’d already proven that the right methods could take high school students who were 4 years below grade level to grade level in just 8 months at 4 hours per week. He knew the science worked. The question was whether he could put it into the hands of every student.
